American Music Awards 2019 kembali digelar tahun ini. Ajang penghargaan dimana pemenangnya sepenuhnya ditentukan dari hasil voting penggemar. Kali ini, AMA 2019 juga tetap memberikan penghargaan tertinggi Artist of the Year.
Ajang penghargaan American Music Awards 2019 digelar di Microsoft Theater di Los Angeles, mulai pukul 8 malam waktu setempat. Ciara menjadi pembawa acara untuk kali ini, dengan penampilan dari Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, Lizzo, Green Day, Christian Aguilera, Toni Braxton, Shania Twain, Ozzy Osbourne, dan banyak lain.
Drake, Ariana Grande, Halsey, Post Malone, dan Taylor Swift mendapatkan nominasi untuk penghargaan tertinggi Artist of the Year dari American Music Awards 2019.
Post Malone meraih nominasi terbanyak dengan total 7 kategori, berikutnya ada Grance dan Billie Eilish yang mendapatkan 6 nominasi. Lil Nas X pun mendapatkan 5 nominasi di kategori berbeda.
